NHL Players As Queen Songs:
My two (2) favorite things are hockey and the band named after none other than Her Majesty, Queen. So the only rational thing is to combine the two, right? That’s what I thought. Without further ado, I present to you, the teams of the NHL paired with the Queen song that represents them.
1. Love of My Life
Philadelphia Flyers. @GrittyNHL. Enough said.
2. Somebody To Love
St. Louis Blues. They look like they could use a few hugs…and new management.
3. Don’t Stop Me Now
New Jersey Devils. This one is for the Legend that is Brian Boyle.
4. We Will Rock You
Winnipeg Jets. They have the most penalty minutes, get it? rock?
5. We Are The Champions
Washington Capitals. Incase you live under a rock, they are your 2018 Stanley Cup champions.
6. Another One Bites The Dust
Los Angeles Kings. So…Lose for Hughes?
7. Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy
Detroit Red Wings. Old franchise, will always be charming.
8. Under Pressure
Toronto Maple Leafs. Looking at you Toronto media.
9. Killer Queen
Edmonton Oilers. Notice the Queen is not plural? that’s because there’s only one on this team and his name is Connor McDavid.
10. You’re My Best Friend
Carolina Hurricanes. They’re the most wholesome team, and this is a wholesome song.
11. Play The Game
Vancouver Canucks. Hockey.
12. Hammer To Fall
San Jose Sharks. I don’t know about you, but I could see them getting hyped up to this song.
13. I Want To Break Free
Arizona Coyotes. This one is for Dylan Strome.
14. Bicycle Race
Columbus Blue Jackets. OG scooter gang, but Queen doesn’t have a song about scooters…so this one will have to do.
15. Keep Yourself Alive
Montreal Canadiens. This franchise seems very ‘every man for himself’.
16. Save Me
Ottawa Senators. It just makes sense.
17. Headlong
Nashville Predators. Listen to the song and tell me you don’t think of the Preds.
18. Now I’m Here
Buffalo Sabres. Did you expect them to be flipping between 1st and 3rd in the Atlantic? Probably not, but here they are.
19. Doing All Right
New York Islanders. They’re Not Bad, but also Not Good.
20. The Show Must Go On
Vegas Golden Knights. I think this one is pretty self explanatory.
21. Some Day One Day
New York Rangers. One day they’ll be good again.
22. Seaside Rendezvous
Tampa Bay Lightning. The city does a whole pirate thing, okay?
23. The Millionaire Waltz
Pittsburgh Penguins. This song puts how the Pens feel about the Stanley Cup into words.Drowse
24. Drowse
Minnesota Wild. It’s a song about being old and they have the oldest players, come on.
25. Fat Bottomed Girls
Dallas Stars. This one’s for Calley. But also, it’s true.
26. White Man
Chicago Blackhawks. Just listen to the song.
27. Tear It Up
Boston Bruins. I feel like this song is just very….Them?
28. Princes of The Universe
Colorado Avalanche. Have you seen that team? Full of actual princes.
29. Cool Cat
Florida Panthers. Do I really have to explain this one?
30. Dragon Attack
Calgary Flames. Dragon, fire, Flames.
31. Radio Ga Ga
Anaheim Ducks. To be honest, I didn’t know where to put them and I wanted to include this song, so here ya go.
Bohemian Rhapsody
I know, a lot of you were probably thinking “where’s Bohemian Rhapsody”, well here’s the thing…no NHL team will ever compare to Bo Rhap.
